You know all those once perfectly nice blogs, now just taking up space, deserted and unupdated... MY BLOG HAS BECOME ONE OF THEM! I just all of the sudden lost all interest in fashion blogs. First my own, then the others. I just recently gave up and marked a few thousand blog entries in my Google Reader "read". Sorry dudes. It's not about you, it's about me. For a while I wasn't even dressing up properly, just threw on a sweater. Now things are looking up and this week I actually have some outfits to post on Sunday. Obviously all this is just a reflection of other setbacks, especially those related to my PhD pursuits. But enough of that!
While I was gone, some ageist shit has been going on in the Finnish blogosphere. Now even 25-year-old bloggers are being considered too old by some - who have apparently never heard of blogs like Kingdom of Style, The Coveted, Wendy Brandes Jewelry etc. Which happen to be, ummm, rather popular. And there's many more. I got this cool anti-ageist badge from the lovely Desthea, and want to pass it to forward to Sanna!
All oldies and wee ones, I hope to get back to blogging business slowly but securely! See you!

wait, what?? what about "old folks" blogging? :) who are these clueless little whippersnappers? do i need to slap them around with my cane? :P
personally, i think people who are older than 25 generally have better personal style because they "know who they are". young people are often still playing about and figuring out who they are, and haven't always gained the confidence which might lead to a wizened, idiosyncratic style statement.
what? i can't believe it... those kids must be idiots.
Tricia, I think a nice slap with ye olde cane would do them good! The only prob is that we don't know who they are, because those people tend to comment anonymously :P. (Hence the "against anonymity" in the badge, as well.)
I know some people find their style at young age, and often it's also entertaining to watch their experiments. But at least I can honestly say my style is far better now, mainly because I was then often dressing up as some person I was wishing to be, what ever that was at the time. (Of course back then I wouldn't have been blogging anyway, because we did not HAVE any blogs! LOL!)
As to you two, you're of course still just babies but ones with great style :)
I'm against ageist shit! Or should we say ageshit!
Woah, Tricia ... Way to swap out one ageist claim with another.
I was hoping for a link to the actual comments, but then I don't read Finnish so maybe that wouldn't do me any good?
Looking through The Coveted, it does occur to me that 'tis a rare teenager who is going to swoon over much found there. And they're kids, so instead of saying "meh, not for me" they hafta say "boo on you." Kids are always going to make bold declarations of the superiority of the young. We what are not kids anymore are probably best off maybe schooling them a wee bit but not getting our own granny-panties in a bundle.
The older we get them more kids there are going to be, so we ought to get our strategies straight.
This hurts my feelings
hmm, that's interesting. so i guess according to those people carine roitfeld, emmanuelle alt, kate moss, miuccia prada, alexander mcqueen, anna wintour, patricia fields, etc... have absolutely no idea what they're doing.
to "um and uh":
way to also miss the essential point (that vasiliisa was making/echoing as well), which is that with MOST people, wisdom comes with age. in matters of fashion or anything else.
my panties were certainly not in any bundle, bunch or wad...it's called responding to said silliness a bit of humor. :) one silly statement deserves another, no?
:-O
what? Poor girls, everyone will be older some day, so they are just forgetting about their OWN future. Stupid
